My Fellow Uromians,
Good evening. Almost a year ago we got pregnant with a thought of having the next convention. This awareness was
a ritual for us and it was documented in our bylaws that every two years we will encounter with our Children, friends,
neighbors and celebrate life.  A destination to go. Thank God for our lives, children, and the thought of meeting old
friends, brothers and sisters who live  apart, rehashing old events and talking about culture and a chance to show
our children who we are as people (the olikas).  The thoughts of our children are growing up with little or no idea of
their genesis is alarming. As far as their thoughts can carry them. They believe we are American. The difference is
we have a dissimilar belief system. Our system is much richer and complete and embraces the intricacies of life
cultured in a way that is different but fully guided. This is our way of life that made us to survive in a strange
surroundings. It is our unique way of life pattern after our forefathers with deeper understanding than we are today. It
is our duty to impact on our children these survival skills. They may not fully adapt to them, but it will bridge the two
generations of ideas and conflicting thoughts. Creating a dimension of the olds and dampens the going back and
forth with the higher understanding, presenting the absolute with a contrast. This Rule points us in a clear direction at
this convention. Let us start with our family and show love by making plans to bring them to the convention. Being
able to see other Uromians of the same age group starts the journey for most of us.
Let us treat others with the same passion and compassion with which we want to be treated. Let us seek for others
the same possibilities which we seek for ourselves. Let us help others to grow, as we would like to be supported. In a
word, if we want love, let us give love; if we want life, let us give life; if we want opportunities, let us provide
opportunities. The yardstick we use at this convention for others will be the yardstick which time will use for us. The
Golden Rule also reminds us of our responsibility to protect and defend other lives as if it is our own. –“Uwa Ahimije”

This conviction has led us, from the beginning of NAUSDA inception, to advocate at different levels for the global
issues for all Uromians. I am convinced as we began this way it is the best, since every human person is endowed
with an inalienable dignity, and society can only benefit from the rehabilitation of those who have been thought how
to live. That is why I like our initiatives to help other even though we are not satisfied ourselves. Recently my brothers
and sisters, what we have done at home in spite of our hardships is remarkable; we are able to look at others and
show them love. The lord said we will never be forgotten. We have sown the seeds for many generations to reap. Not
only do we support them, but we also offer encouragement to all those who are convinced that a just and necessary
giving must never exclude the dimension of hope and the goal of rehabilitation to others to reinstate benefit for
others. Human helping human is the spirit of NAUSDA and world over and let us fill the hall of the convention in high
spirits that will last us until we meet again in two years. I have registered my children for the NASA tour and reserved
my iconic T-Shirts. Have you? I am just saying. Bravo to our iconic leaders Mr. Adams Ebhomielen, Dr. Mike Ayewoh,
